Sound of Silence is a downloadable pause. An experimental podcast that records the silence that arises between two people.
Curated and hosted by artist Steve Chapman, each episode lasts around 3 minutes and centres around 2 minutes of shared silence recorded face to face with a special guest in a variety of locations. The podcast launched on the 10th July 2018 and guests so far have included actors/comedians (Vic Reeves, Neil Mullarkey), musicians (Fred Deakin of Lemon Jelly), social entrepreneurs (Lord Adebowale CBE, Michelle Morgan), artists (Lucy Bellwood, Mr Bingo, Simone Lea, Remi Rough) and many more.
Only 100 episodes will be recorded and once the experiment has been completed, the photos and the audio will be turned into a physical, interactive gallery exhibit. The project has also attracted the interest of publishers who are interested in publishing the story of the project once it has been completed.

I would love to have you as one of my 100 guests on the podcast. An episode only takes 5 minutes to record and I’m happy to travel to a location convenient for you, ideally in the UK but further afield is possible. Each episode begins with a brief introduction during which I will give some information about the you and welcome you to the podcast before recording the silence. The podcast ends with a thank you.
The only other requirement is that each guest has a photo taken with the original ink print of the Sound of Silence logo. This is for use on the podcast cover and in the final art exhibit.
If you are interested or would like any further information then please drop me a line.
All the best.
